Relive the Battle of Britain

Experience a dynamic simulation of the defense network that saved the free world.

England Alone

It was late June, 1940. The Nazi war machine had conquered most of Continental Europe. With the surrender of France, only Britain remained in the fight against Hitler's war machine. The world waited for Hitler to cross the Channel, invade England and end the war. Alone and outnumbered, few expected she would survive.

A Secret Weapon

The British Army had been saved from destruction at Dunkirk, but it was disarmed and in disarray. Only Britain's Royal Air Force stood between the Nazi's and total victory. Outgunned and outnumbered, the RAF's only hope lay not with their Spitfires and Hurricanes, but with a secret weapon, the Dowding System - a vast defense network that integrated operations rooms, observation posts, and the world's first operational RADAR chain.

Throughout the system, officers, civilians, scientists, and women of the WAAF worked together to pinpoint German raids, determine responses. and pass information to the squadron pilots.

To do this they solved complex problems and made life and death decisions, under intense pressure and time constraints. Their teamwork saved the free world.

1940 Reborn

After five years of meticulous research, we have recreated the Dowding System’s Filter Room.

Running on powerful but invisible technology, the incoming raids are dynamic - no script, and no pre-planned outcomes.

The radar operators are live. The limits and errors of the radar system are accurate. The map is full scale and the tokens are built to original specs. We can recreate the raids from any day of the Battle of Britain.

Check out the story of how we created the simulation here.

Less Than 10 Minutes

When you step into the Filter Room you’ll do the same jobs they did in 1940. You’ll plot incoming raids, filter inaccurate information and make quick decisions about your resources.

Finding the Germans takes time; every second gives you better information. But the attackers are right across the Channel. Every second brings you closer to disaster. Just like 1940, you have less than 10 minutes to make the call.

You must work closely as a team to identify the incoming attackers and scramble fighters. You and your teammates hold the fate of England in your hands.
